| Appraiser Comments: | Your original Coca Cola sign is an extremely rare and collectable item of Americana...Coca Cola is what American advertising is all about especially in the early part of the century..this sign is vintage circa 1930's and most of the large signs from this era have perished and those that survived have been snapped up by hungry collectors of Coke memorabilia...this was an outside sign and was therefore far more prone to damage by the elements than indoor signs so it is not altogether unusual to see a little rust..this sign should definitely be repaired and retouched on the area of rust and only on this area as only original signs command the high value that is attributed to this piece..this sign was likely mounted on the outside of a store or restaurant and given the reasonably good condition, I would say that it was likely protected by a porch or overhang...superb piece and easily worth the amount shown below.. |
