| Appraiser Comments: | Your doll was made after 1940, which is when the trademark, "Walt Disney Productions" was first in use. The Gundikins, a series of plush dolls with vinyl faces, was issued from 1956 to about 1960.
The Gund Company was founded in 1898 by Adolph Gund. When he retired in 1925, he sold the company to Jacob Swedlin. The J. Swedlin Company has been a family-run business ever since, and a longtime licensee of the Disney Company, producing many toys for them. There are, of course, many other dolls in this series, including the other six dwarves, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and Caspar The Ghost. Your doll appears to be in excellent condition. Since I am unable to examine this item in person, it is assumed for the purpose of this appraisal to be a 1950s plush Gundikins Dopey doll in excellent condition, with no flaws whatsoever. The values below are based on these assumptions. |
